Fauzia, the founding member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had joined the former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal-led party in May due to ‘fundamental’ differences with the PTI leadership.
She had said the Imran Khan-led party was no longer a representative of the aspirations of millions of people wanting transformative change.

The educationist took to Twitter to share the news. “My journey in politics is over,” she said.
In a reply to a tweet asking her to return to PTI, she said: “However, I continue to pray for Pakistan and wish to do whatever little I can for helping out with various charities.”

PSP’s candidate for the port city’s NA-247 (Karachi South II), Fauzia lost in the July 25th general elections by a heavy margin.
