Need stressed to revise capital’s master plan
Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Chairman and Mayor Shiekh Anser Aziz has directed the chief metropolitan officer to conduct an inquiry into the actions of IMC’s Emergency and Disaster Management (E&DM) senior official.
An officer in basic pay scale (BPS) grade 18, he has been accused of interfering in official matters and for challenging the authority of the mayor despite being his subordinate and is alleged to be involved in activities which are against the organisation.
Moreover, the official also holds the position of secretary in the CDA. Hence, a letter has been dispatched by the mayor’s office to the CDA chairman, demanding that the latter remove the officer from the civic body.

The mayor’s office stated in the letter that they have severe reservations over the E&DM officer and that he was obstructing the transfers and posting of officials in the IMC.
Furthermore, the officer has been accused of stirring trouble amongst IMC officials by creating discontent and anxiety amongst employees against the IMC.
Despite repeated and varied attempts to contact him, the officer could not be contacted.
