Tennis: Shakoor advances in ranking tournament

Abdul Shakoor beat Ahsan Ismail 6-1, 6-1 to list his first win in the men’s single’s event of the Inaugural NBP Open Ranking Tennis Championship being held at the Modern Club Tennis Courts. Aqeel Shabbir humiliated Fahad Naseem in a one-sided 6-0, 6-0 win while Hassaan Siddiqui beat Ali Imam 6-0, 6-1. Chengez Hassan triumphed over his opponent Rabiuddin in a 6-2, 6-0 victory to advance to the second round. Salman Ahmad ousted Murad Khan 6-3, 6-2 to cruise into the next round as well.
