EOBI increases old-age pension by 20%

The Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) on Tuesday announced to raise pensions for elderly people by 20%, Express News reported.

Previously, the dispensation was Rs5,250 but with the increase it now stands at Rs6,500.

Moreover, overseas Pakistanis will not need to create their National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to avail pensions now.

10% rise in salaries, pensions of govt employees

Earlier this year, a woman legislator of the treasury benches in the Punjab Assembly had demanded that the government to fix Rs10,000 as pension and ensure the provision of best economic, social and health facilities to the aged artistes who spent their lives in the showbiz.

The demands were made by Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Seemabia Tahir through her resolution she submitted in Punjab Assembly Secretariat.

She had contended that the previous government had neither done anything for the artistes nor introduced any policy to make their lives easier when they retire from their work.

She said these artistes played their role in promoting the culture and tradition of Pakistan.

We request Mr. Asad Umar Sahib that as he knows about retirees of Engro were kicked out on 58 years of age instead 60 years so the maximum full pension be given to all those whose were retired by company early 58 years instead of 60 years and increase must be 20,000 Govt. may inject amount in EOBI so that workers (senior citizen may not suffer).

After that so called governments mughe kun nekala zanda hy bhtto zanda hy do nothing for EOBI pensioner but looted this organization as much as thy can NAB must investigate against corrupt aliments in EOBI. It is suggested that increase for EOBI pensioner linked with government retired employees in budget increase. Iam very thankful to PM Imran khan finance minster Said umar adviser to pm Zulfi Bukari for there kindness and hope to do more to enable sick retired EOBI to buy necessary essential medicine for health without charity . Saeed Ahmed | 5 years ago | Reply Although 20% increase is good however it is not up to our expectation. We need at least 50% increment. Reduced pensioners may be allowed to get full pension. Hope the concerned authorities will try to understand old-aged pensioners feelings. Saeed Ahmed

Muhammad Siddique | 5 years ago | Reply During the recent month present govt has increased 10% in EOBI pension and now new order issued for 20% & they ordere to hold the previous order till stand abyance since two month had already been lapsed. NAB has fainled to recovered looted amount from EOBI since 19 years.
