LAHORE:
For the very first time, an approval has been granted for initiating night safari tours at Lahore Safari Zoo. For this purpose, a special food court will be set up while more exotic animals and birds will be brought in.

The project, which has been launched to earn more revenue from the zoo, will initially be launched as an experiment. However, tourists who will opt for the experience will be able to witness nocturnal animals in action during the night. Animals such as lions and tigers which laze about during the day and birds which begin to chirp after sunset will all be a part of the attractions.

Lahore Safari Zoo Director Chaudhry Shafqat Ali said that the biggest issue with night safari tours is security. “We are trying to ensure security before offering the service,” he said.

Nigh safaris are main attractions in many countries around the world.

“We will carry out this experiment in Pakistan for the first time. Powerful lights will be installed inside the zoo premises while night vision close circuit security cameras (CCTVs) and additional security guards will also be appointed,” said the safari zoo director.

“Currently, Lahore Zoo Safari is earning Rs25 million annually. Offering this service will also help us to increase our revenue while citizens can avail additional entertainment opportunities,” he added.

Earlier, an amusement park was also constructed at the zoo. However, the initiative was not very successful as children would throng to the amusement park at night when the zoo would be closed. Now, children will be able to enjoy the play land at night.
