Emergency lanes for ambulances

Moral conscience is lost where those driving on the roads don’t cater to the blaring sirens of the ambulances

KARACHI: No one realises the importance of emergency lanes in Pakistan. We are in real need of it right now. People these days are so busy in and with their own that they appear to have forgotten the meaning of humanity.

Moral conscience is lost to the extent where those driving and riding on the roads don’t cater to the blaring sirens of the ambulances. It’s like they are waiting for someone to tell them to move a little bit. Ambulances get stuck in the traffic jam which leads to unfortunate yet avoidable consequences – many lose their lives whereas new lives are given birth in unsafe conditions. The government should take notice of this and allocate emergency lanes for ambulance or life-saving vehicles and personnel.
