Dubai police women smash world record of towing aeroplane over 100 metres

A group of 77 women police officers in Dubai has smashed the Guinness World Record by towing an aeroplane – Boeing 777-300R weighing around 240 tonnes – for over 100 metres, Gulf News reported on Wednesday.

On its official Twitter account, Dubai police shared pictures from the event. As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which will end on November 24, they took on this feat and succeeded.

A committee from the Guinness World Records was present to oversee this event and awarded a certificate to Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

According to an official statement by Dubai police, Major-General Al Merri applauded "the efforts of the team of the initiative, with the participation of Emirates as a strategic partner".
