PM Imran reiterates resolve to protect rights of citizens

Law Minister Farogh Naseem briefs premier over reforms in the legal system

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday reiterated his government's resolve to protect the rights of citizens and ensure prompt dispensation of justice, Express News reported.

During a meeting on legal reforms, the premier was briefed by Law Minister Farogh Naseem on legislative measures and stated that the purpose of reforms is to implement new laws and amend existing ones.

The prime minister said the masses should have access to speedy and trouble-free justice as the party's election manifesto.



The law minister further elaborated that a commission to protect whistleblowers will be formed to protect those who report corrupt practices. He added whistleblowers will be rewarded accordingly.

Referring to the basic rights for women, children and domestic help, the prime minister directed authorities to ensure such vulnerable segments of the society are granted their rights.

The PM was also given a detailed briefing on modern technology solutions to aid courts.



It was also announced during the meeting that a system to address grievances of government servants would be established.
