QUETTA: Awami National Party (ANP) central leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain has criticised the incumbent government, saying those who brought Imran to power seem confused on their decision as this administration has failed to deliver.

“They have the powers to replace them but it will take time of a year or two,” he added.

Addressing newsmen at Quetta Press Club on Tuesday, the ANP leader said, “The immature federal government and the prime minister are still unaware of what kind of statements should be given publicly… they are making a false claim of strong democracy”.

He also said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government has brought shame for the whole nation by begging for loans from friendly countries. He slammed the government on betrayal of public trust with false claims.

Club President Razaur Rehman, ANP President for Balochistan Chapter Asghar Khan Achakzai, General Secretary Nizamuddin Kakar and other leaders were present at the conference.

On political victimisation, Iftikhar said the PM has the right of regularising his residence at Bani Gala Islamabad but Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was being targeted in the name of corruption that unveiled the double standards of the government.

“We assume those who brought Imran Khan to power are now confused on the poor performance of PTI-led government,” he said adding that they can also replace him.

On the 18th amendment, he said the ANP would not accept reversal of the amendment. Iftikhar said the PTI government had expressed interest in building Kala Bagh Dam but they must be aware of the consequences as it is not in the interest of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.”

He also said the development regarding inclusion of Saudi Arabia in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) perturbed Chinese government.

Talking on the recent statement of US president, the ANP leader said the views indicate that it does not want to continue Pakistan’s funding. But, he said the nation wanted answer regarding previously given billions of dollars aid by the US government.

“Our government has been claiming of billions of dollars loss against participating in America’s war against terror, the government should make public the details of agreements it had made with the United States”.

Negotiations can appease recent tensions between the two countries, he added.
