Ice bust: K-P Police arrest four for selling crystal-meth on campuses

K-P police seizes 5kg ice, over 9kg heroin, 34kg opium, and over 458kg of high quality hashish

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhunkhwa Police have arrested four suspects for selling drugs to students and recovered crystal methamphetamine also known as crystal-meth or ice from them besides the usual haul of heroin, hashish and opium.

SP Investigations Nisar Khan speaking at a press conference at Malik Saad Police Lines on Monday said that these suspects were supplying drugs on campuses and hostels.

Two drug pushers, Hashmat Gul and Janisar Ali were selling ice in private colleges, universities and other educational institutions in the remits of Hayatabad Police Station.

Two Afghan nationals Hasan Dastakhat and Abdul Hadi were selling ice near a college in the Town police station limits. Police recovered 5kg of ice from the suspects.

SP Nisar said that apart from these four drug pushers, Gulbahar police arrested suspect Mubarak son of Sadiq Ali involved in selling drugs to students of a technical and vocational centre. He said that police have arrested 547 suspects in an operation against narcotics suppliers in Peshawar during the last week. He said that Peshawar SSP Operations Javed Iqbal was supervising the operation on the directions of CCPO Qazi Jamilur Rehman. During the drive, police have seized 5kg ice, over 9kg heroin, 34kg opium, and over 458kg of high quality hashish.

SP Nisar, urged the people, through media, to take part in Peshawar police’s operation against drugs and to prove themselves as responsible citizens by providing secret information about drug sellers.
