PESHAWAR: Police foiled a bizarre mode of smuggling bid and seized 1.5 kilogrammes of hashish hidden under belongings being carried on a donkey in Swat, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Monday.

During checking by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in the Matta area, the contraband was recovered.

Moreover, the alleged culprits have been taken into custody with a case being registered against them.

On November 18, the Motorway Police had nabbed a married couple who were smuggling 242 bottles of liquor stashed in their car.

The couple were en route from Peshawar to Lahore when their vehicle was stopped at the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.

The suspects, identified as Naveed and Noon Bibi, have been taken into custody with a case now being registered against them. They had also been wanted by the Faisalabad police.
