Following the directives issued by the top court, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday submitted an application to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to regularise his Bani Gala properties, Express News reported.

He submitted the documents of his 1,200 canal residence and an adjoining drawing room building to the development authority.

According to sources, the premier submitted documents regarding ownership of the property, mapping and other important papers to the authority, while the CDA in light of the orders issued by the apex court has initiated the process to regularise Zone Four of Bani Gala.

It was also reported that the CDA received 132 requests for commercial and residential buildings. A fine of Rs100 per square feet for residential and Rs200 per square feet will be acquired from the property owners.

Commercial building and apartment owners will further be charged an additional commercialisation fee of Rs3,500 per square feet, while development charges will also be charged as well from Zone 4 residents of Bani Gala.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had remarked earlier that PM Imran should bring his own house 'in line with the law' and should be the first one to pay a fine.
