Railway officials have suggested not running the regular train till the track was 100% repaired

RAWALPINDI: The Railway's labour body on Sunday pointed out that the 700km railway track from Quetta to Taftan (Iran) was in a dilapidated state.

Railway officials have suggested not running the regular train till the track was 100 per cent repaired.

Railway Workers Union leader Junaid Awan said that “whenever they ran the train on this [Quetta-Taftan] track, a big track engineering staff of railways accompanies them with all sorts of tools.”



Due to the damaged tracks, two to three bogeys derail after every 200 km which the staff tends to and restores them back on track, he added.

Awan said that during a journey, it happens two to three times. He called for the track to be changed.
