Three FC men martyred in Margat blast

QUETTA: At least three Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan personnel embraced martyrdom and four others sustained injuries in a remote-controlled bomb attack in the coal mining area of Margat, some 60 kilometres from the provincial capital on Sunday.

According to FC officials, unidentified miscreants planted an improvised explosive device along the road in the Margat area, targeting the ration-distribution vehicle of the paramilitary troops. Three FC soldiers were martyred and four others were injured in the attack.

A heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and the injured to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Quetta via a helicopter.

The LEAs cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation.

The martyred FC personnel were identified as Sepoy Bashir Ahmed, Sepoy Gul Jan and Sepoy Alam Khan, while the injured with critical wounds were undergoing treatment at the CMH Quetta.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack till the filing of this news story.
