A lady police constable checked her purse and found 1.5kg of heroin in it. Preliminary investigation shows that she was wanted by Interpol France for her alleged involvement in human trafficking. Her visa had also expired in April.

Bootlegging bust
Shalimar Police raided the house of notorious bootlegger on the directions of IG Islamabad Amir Zulfiqar and recovered liquor worth over Rs1 million.
Sources claimed that some scrupulous elements in the force helped the main suspect escape, though his cache of illegal brew was caught.
According to police, Malik Saghir had been selling homebrewed moonshine as imported liquor for the last 15 years. Saghir had ramshackle brewing equipment at his home on Street 77 of Sector F-6 where he would fill the spirits in old bottles of foreign liquor and sell it exorbitant price. People used to buy liquor from him thinking it was smuggled foreign stuff, but in fact he was handing them local brew.
Saghir was also nominated in dozens of criminal cases registered at Shalimar and Ramna police station.
Police recovered 120 bottles of famous foreign brands filled with illegal liquor besides 400 cases of beer.
Sources say that police had arrested Saghir along with four other suspects, however the duty officer let them escape on receiving a call and mentioned them as absconders in the case.
Shalimar police station Investigative Officer Javed Iqbal said he had found 610 liquor bottles including beer. Iqbal said the suspects, on seeing the police had scaled the wall of the backyard and escaped from the scene.
Other police sources claim that there were 800 bottles but recovery of only 610 was entered.
Moreover, Ramna police raided the house of notorious liquor seller Malik Altamash in Sector G-11 and recovered 100 bottles of imported whiskey, vodka and gin and 530 cans of beer. A suspect Haibat Khan was arrested and car used for delivery was also taken into custody. Altamash, however, was not present at the house and managed to avoid arrest.
Drug peddling in diplomatic enclave
Secretariat Police arrested Anti-Terrorism Force personnel involved in selling drugs in Diplomatic Enclave within the remits of Secretariat police station. Police presented the suspect before court and dispatched him to jail, however police could not trace the network involved in selling drugs in the Diplomatic Enclave.
According to police, Nasir Shah, a police commando posted in ATF was caught with 110 grammes of drugs. Police had presented the suspect before the court and requested to send him to jail.
Murder suspects apprehended
The case of firing at Civil Judge Islamabad Suleman Badar’s vehicle near Chakri Interchange has been registered in Chontra Police station. Three suspects nominated in the case were arrested by Islamabad police on Friday night from Tarnol check post. DSP Sadar Farhan Aslam has said that suspected were being interrogated to know the motive behind firing at civil judge.
Interior secretary summoned in Musharraf treason case
Civil Judge Suleman Badar told the police that he was returning to Islamabad from his hometown, Lahore, with his family when two people in a car fired two shots at his car nearly two kilometres away from Chakri Interchange.
The judge and his family remained safe. They called National Highways and Motorway Police helpline and received immediate response. Moreover, on the information of civil judge, Islamabad police arrested the three suspects Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Aqeel and Salman, and also recovered the car and pistol near Tarnol gate on Friday night, suspects have been handed over to Chontra police for further investigation.
