LAHORE:
After implementation of the first phase of e-challaning in Lahore, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has now advanced its e-challan ambit by including one-way violation as another trigger to penalty and ticket in addition to signal jumping. This was announced in a handout issued by the PSCA on Friday. “One-way violators are one of the main contributors to deaths and injuries on roads,” said PSCA spokesperson. He added that the authority has prepared a system which will have data of violations from the center to the high-tech wireless sets in possession of traffic wardens for immediate apprehensions. The authority urged citizens to abide by traffic laws and avoid getting ticketed. The spokesperson reiterated that those ticketed must pay their fines in time to avoid any action by the authority. The Bank of Punjab (BoP) branches located in the province are authorised to receive e-challan payments. The status of e-challans could be checked at ECHALLAN.PSCA.GOP.PK. Citizens can also print out their e-challans from PSCA online portal and these printouts will be accepted at all BoP branches.
