Thinkfest: IBA to host academic festival

Trees in our vicinity are inspiring for students and citizens alike

The first ‘Afkar-e-Taza ThinkFest’ in Karachi will take place at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, City Campus on December 8. Several prominent Pakistani scholars and commentators will also participate in the one-day festival, including Adviser to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr Ishrat Husain. The event is an initiative which aims to realise Allama Iqbal’s dream that newer worlds are only built through fresh ideas and thoughts and not brick and mortar. Grounded in the work of scholars from around the world. “Our aim was to bring a diverse group of scholars from a variety of disciplines, so that our students and the general public could learn and engage with them,” said the ThinkFest Karachi Co-Director Dr Faiza Mushtaq. The festival will run from 10:30am to 7:30pm. Entry is free and open to the public.
