Sardar Yahya Khan Nasir had challenged the PB-5 results, while Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasir of the BAP challenged the NA-258 results. Sardar Masood Khan Luni, an independent candidate who later joined the BAP, was earlier declared victorious from the PB-5 constituency, while BAP’s Sardar Israr Tareen was declared victorious in NA-258. Luni is contesting the election once again as an independent candidate.

Luni secured 12,800 votes against BAP candidate Nasir who bagged 5,329 votes.

The election tribunal had nullified the elections on NA-258 and PB-5 over rigging allegation by the applicants and ordered re-elections on both constituencies.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the by-polls went smoothly in NA-258 and PB-5 constituencies.

Meanwhile, the ECP ordered re-elections in PB 26 Quetta after declaring the election of MPA Ahmed Ali Kohzad null and void because of his Afghan nationality.
