The petitioner, Muhammad Bux Mahar, informed the court that his brother, Sher Muhammad, went missing five days ago after returning from Islamabad.
The family lives in Benazirabad district. Mahar had gone to Islamabad and was returning by road. His last location was on the National Highway in Qazi Ahmed, taluka of Benazirabad.
The petitioner complained that the family immediately reported the disappearance to the police but they did not take interest in the recovery of his brother.
A division bench comprising Justice Abdul Maalik Gaddi and Justice Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui directed the respondents to submit their reply on December 5.
At a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday, Mahar's son Asadullah Mahar said that they have not received a ransom call so far. He claimed that his father had no known enemy as well. He appealed to the authorities to help recover his father.
Employees of the culture department and artists also held protests in different districts of Sindh for Mahar's recovery.
