PESHAWAR: Philosophy has proved to be a panacea for all the ills faced by the society since it provides a ladder to reality and an answer to social complexities.

This was stated by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Higher Education Department (HED) Secretary Manzur Ahmad while addressing a dialogue on the eve of World Philosophy Day at the University of Peshawar (UoP) on Thursday.

Addressing the concluding session of the dialogue, Ahmad said that their department was striving to introduce philosophy as a subject in colleges in order to inculcate critical thinking amongst students.  He further said that they will be reserving a lion’s share in scholarships for the philosophy department in order to promote the discipline.

Earlier, while opening the dialogue, UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Khan explained that philosophy is a meeting place for humanities and sciences.
