A 15-member committee has been formed under Chief Secretary Balochistan Akhtar Nazir Ahmed to ensure implementation on the transgender rights law.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the committee would conduct a survey of transgender persons in the province and frame a policy.

The statement quoted Social Welfare Secretary Noorul Haq Baloch as saying that representatives from health and education departments, the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Home Net Pakistan Balochistan had been selected for the formation of the committee.
This law allows transgender persons the right to self-identify as enjoyed by their male and female counterparts in society. Moreover, it will help them have their identity registered on all official documents, including CNICs.
