The Urdu and English dailies of the same media group have quoted Justice Sqaib Nisar as calling the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government 'lacking capability and planning’ in today’s papers.
Taking suo motu notice of the issue, the top judge in today’s hearing distanced himself from the quoted remarks, saying the comments were aimed at the Capital Development Authority and not the federal government.

A three-judge SC bench, headed by the CJP, was hearing the case.
During the proceedings, Justice Nisar said recording of yesterday’s hearing will be played in the court room to prove that the published stories are fake news.
“We are surprised as the court never made such observations about the federal government, in fact observations were made against the CDA,” said an official notification issued by the apex court after the suo motu hearing.
“This is an instance of gross misreporting on behalf of the said media group,” it added.
Directing to issue notice to the editors, printers and publishers of the newspapers to explain as to why action under the relevant law should not be taken against them, the court adjourned the hearing till Thursday, November 15 (tomorrow).
