PM’s aide says special focus on girls’ education

Attends oath-taking ceremony at OPF Girls College

ISLAMABAD : Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is paying special attention to the education of girls.

“If a female student is educated, she educates her whole family,” said the special assistant on Tuesday while addressing a ceremony for administering oath to members and office-bearers of the Students Council of the OPF Girls College and the annual award distribution ceremony.

“Work on the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) University is going on in full swing,” said Bukhari. He gave instructions for early completion of the university.



Stressing the need for inculcating good manners, he said, “Our religion teaches us manners. We have to play our role with patience, courage and full determination in actualising the establishment of Naya Pakistan.”

The PM’s aide said overseas Pakistan “are a part of us” and were playing their due role in the development of the country.

Addressing the ceremony, OPF Managing Director Dr Amir Sheikh said, “OPF is playing a brilliant role in imparting education. Not only in Pakistan but for Pakistanis across the world, the OPF is working on projects based on latest technology.”

In her welcome address, OPF Girls College Principal Professor Shahina Masood presented the college report.

She said her college student, Urooj Kiran, secured the top position in matriculation examinations while in O-Level, Amal Razzak achieved the highest marks.
