Veteran politician Asif Ali Zardari's daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto on Tuesday questioned her father's appearance before a banking court as a 'dictator' remained free from accountability.

"My father & former president Asif Ali Zardari just returned from appearing before court for his interim bail again," Bakhtawar said. No issue he’s lived his life in courts; he respects the law."

She added, "question where is our ex dictator," she said, referring to former president and army chief Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

"Why is he still on a golf course? Is accountability only for elected civilians?"

Zardari, Talpur's bail extended till Dec 10

On Tuesday, a banking court in Karachi granted bail extension to former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in a case pertaining to money laundering of over Rs35 billion through fake accounts. The top PPP leadership was granted extension in bail till December 10.

In September, the top court ordered formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe alleged money laundering of at least Rs35 billion through fake bank accounts.

Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur, Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairman Hussain Lawai and Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza are among those being investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for alleged money laundering of over Rs35 billion through fake accounts.
