Hike in private school fee should be reasonable: SC

Chief justice offers to preside a session of the committee formed over the issue

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday said the hike in fee by private schools should be reasonable and the chief justice offered to preside a session of the committee formed over the issue.

During the hearing, the chief justice urged the stakeholders to find a solution agreeable to all. He added that the court would take up issues not resolved by the committee.

Justice Ijazul Hasan remarked during the proceedings that the federal ombudsman is taking time to conduct a forensic audit regarding how much fee is being charged by schools.



The CJP also lamented that the committee was unable to make any headway in the matter.



The top judge then further said fees are rising and parents are struggling to pay them, before adjourning the hearing for a break.
