Syed Hasnain Hashmi, Central Additional General Secretary of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), has stressed the need for changing the economic system based on productive human development.

Speaking to various delegations of BAP the other day, the general secretary said the new form of the economic system should be based on the betterment of people.

“There is a need to improve quality of life,” Hashmi said, adding that the government needed to review the projects thoroughly in the light of the issues problems the country.

He alleged that the previous governments used foreign loans for “personal benefits” rather than for the country. “This worst plundering of public money pushed the country towards backwardness and sectarianism,” he lamented.

The BAP leader called for Chinese assistance in various departments. He said peace would only be achieved if political and ethnic differences were put aside and practical efforts were made to promote the thinking of ‘nation first’.
