Sattar wants to pull MQM-P out of crisis

Hundreds of party workers don't want me to leave, says Farooq Sattar

KARACHI: Dr Farooq Sattar said that he had no contact with London ever since the anti-state speech on August 22, 2016 by Muttahida Quami Movement's (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain. He claimed that he got a phone call on the morning of August 23, 2016 from Nadeem Nusrat after which he never heard from them again. "Minus-one happened incidentally but minus-two is a conspiracy.



Sattar spoke to the media after the hearing of a case in court held on Saturday. He talked about pulling MQM-P out of crisis claiming that the party and Rabita [coordination] Committee is under the influence of certain people. A large number of party workers believe that this is damaging the party, its vision and manifesto. The present Rabita Committee, according to Sattar, lost trust of workers due to such decisions. Sattar suggested intra-party elections for the party and that responsible leaders should be reinstated within the party.

Sattar, talking about his expulsion, said that the decision of removing him was rejected by hundreds of workers including himself. He said those decisions were being taken by the egoistic members of the party while hundreds of party workers condemned it.



"We want to run the party politically and democratically while they want to run the party by threatening and scaring people," said Sattar adding that he didn't provoke any member to become this desperate and impatient.

According to Sattar, assets of all members, including himself, should be declared in court and if it isn't done, then he would unveil their asset details. Sattar said that if anyone had done anything wrong they should apologise to God and workers.
