MUZAFFARABAD: At least five people were injured on Saturday after the Indian security forces once again targeted civilian population residing along the Line of Control (LoC) with small and heavy weapons without any provocation from the Pakistani side.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incidents took place in Leepa and Bagsar sectors.

The Indian forces used heavy calibre weapons, evoking a befitting response from the Pakistani security forces, the statement further said.

Soldier martyred in unprovoked Indian firing along LoC

The injured civilians have been identified as Zaheer, Nasir, Shaukat, Muneer and Tania. The injured belong to the Bijlidar, Battlian, and Gujrakh villages.

The incident took place two days after a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in unprovoked firing from the Indian troops on the LoC.

Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed was martyred in the Thub sector of the LoC. He belonged to village Sultan Pur in Bhimber district and is survived by a widow.
