IT discipline and the offered academic degree programmes are considered to yield few well-paying jobs

LAHORE: The IT sector in Pakistan is still to make great strides to work parallel to the IT sectors of developed countries. More so because the IT discipline and the offered academic degree programmes are considered to yield few well-paying jobs, hence attracting fewer admissions every year, in comparison to business degrees.

With that it is commendable that the Higher Education Commission and Huawei Technology Pakistan are collaborating for information and communications technology (ICT) talent development programme to provide opportunity for the talented in the country. The programme, if approved by the cabinet, it will be one among the very few IT-related collaborations that the federal education body has taken up.
