To promote the art and culture of Hazara division of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

ABBOTTABAD: A colorful cultural show ‘Mera Hazara’ was held at the National Press Club on November 7, Wednesday, to promote the art and culture of Hazara division of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Renowned singers from Hazara division Shakeel Awan and Afshan Zaibi presented their popular melodies of the Hazara community’s local and traditional music. This was a great way to revive and showcase the Hazara culture in the province.

Considering that the event was attended by people hailing from different walks of life — politicians, lawyers and sportsmen — this show could help the community in gaining recognition. We can’t deny the fact that the community is one of the most marginalised segments of our society.

A cultural show such as this one should be followed by many like it. It will make the Hazara community feel an important part of the country.
