According to Express News, Maj Gen Nadeem told the Senate's Standing Committee on the Interior that the force does not want to perform duties on the border along the lines of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) or Pakistan Customs.
Apprising the committee, led by Senator Rehman Malik, the officer called for introducing reforms in the force, similar to those in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police.

During the briefing, Maj Gen Anjum revealed that the US had recalled seven helicopters earlier handed over to the force, leaving it with none now. He also pointed out that the FC's maintenance budget had also been reduced by 97 per cent.
At the Chaman border, the officer added, the FC is functioning like the FIA and Customs, which it does not desire. He highlighted that the responsibility of maintaining law and order in Balochistan is solely on the FC.
Maj Gen Anjum said the scourge of terrorism is being gradually exterminated in the province, owing to the efforts of the force.
