KARACHI: Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding festivities have already begun, kicking off with a traditional puja held in the former's hometown last week.
While there have been many speculations regarding the pair's wedding, Deepika's choice of fashion designer is on top of the list. As the Tamasha star opted to wear a conventional Sabyasachi piece at the puja, many believe she will stick with the ace designer's clothing for the rest of her events too.
Deepika chose an orange suit entailing a banarasi dupatta for the first event. She had her hair slicked down in a low bun and accessorised with oversized gold earrings bearing intricate metal work and pearl detailing. The actor's makeup was minimal, complete with apricot-coloured lips.
Keeping this in mind, here are four of Deepika's previous Sabyasachi attires that could have been perfect for her upcoming events.
The sangeet is the celebration held a night or two before the wedding ceremony. Being a more female-oriented party, this event is one of the more playful of the lot.
Here, Deepika is clad in a stunning, floral ensemble. Something like this would be great for a sangeet as it screams femininity with the delicate organza cloth, elaborate florid work and blushed tones. The one-piece under the extravagant dupatta would allow the star to let loose and dance as much as she wants, while still looking like a dream.
Many brides tend to go traditional on their big day with conventional fabrics, colours and cuts. Going for a sari similar to this, would mean that the Cocktail actor can stick to her culture and traditions at the main event.
The silken finish is stunning and will let the bride stand out while the gold embellishings will allow her to sparkle. Some more ornamentation, heavy jewellery and bridal makeup will have Deepika ready for her day.
The wedding reception has a much more chilled-out vibe as it's a party held as hospitality for guests. Hosted after the completion of all marriage nuptials, this is the event where the couple gets the chance to meet and greet people for the first time as a married couple.
A reception tends to feature more contemporary cuts so an ensemble such as the above would be a good deal. The form-fitted skirt does great justice to the Piku star's body and the lace brings all the grace to the oufit. Teamed with gentler makeup and the right jewellery, this could be a winner.
4. After Party
Being the final event after week-long celebrations, the bride would need something nice and simple. Deepika doesn't have to go customary with her outfit choice for this night and can be as modern as she wants.
Therefore, a sari such as this would be ideal. A muted print, delicate colour and bit of bling - what more do you want? The attire has just the right amount of sensuality for a new bride who wants to show off her svelte frame. A similar hairstyle and bold lip would do wonders!
