Members of both the teams met in Berlin to discuss the possibility of a partnership between TPL and HERE. It was then agreed that the two companies would work to establish a product collaboration and technology partnership.

Along with this, the two companies will also work on a joint development of a go-to-market strategy in the automotive industry in Pakistan.

“We are very excited with the collaboration opportunities with HERE Technologies. This MoU is the result of a lot of hard work in developing indigenous Pakistani maps and local expertise in location-based services,” said Adnan Shahid, CEO TPL Maps.

Established in 2016, TPL Maps recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with what3words (w3w), a global multi-award winning location technology company to enable Pakistani consumers to navigate with more precision and accuracy.

Pakistan’s online mapping world is dominated by Google Maps with most users using the Google app for navigation purposes. However, TPL Maps is taking a series of steps to break into the local sphere of online mapping to act as a domestic alternative to Google.
