Two vehicles worth millions 'go missing' from Ishaq Dar's residence

NAB seeks excise department's assistance to trace the vehicles

Two luxury vehicles worth millions of rupees have gone missing from former finance minister Ishaq Dar's residence in Lahore, Express News reported on Saturday.

As per the orders of the country's highest court to seize Dar's assets, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had launched an operation to seize vehicles from his residence in Gulberg-III, Lahore.

Upon their arrival at the house, the recovery team found that two vehicles, which should been there, were nowhere to be found.



In view of the discovery, NAB wrote to the excise and taxation department, stating, "We went to the residence in Gulberg-III, where a Mercedes Benz and Land Cruiser were missing."

On October 25, the former finance minister's wife Tabassum Ishaq had filed an application in the accountability court after dispossession of her property in the corruption reference against her husband.

In her plea, Tabassum had maintained that her house, located in Gulberg, was her personal property and could not be confiscated. “Dar had gifted me the house on Feb 14, 1980,” the petition read.
