Malik, Akhtar back for Asia Cup

The 15-member national cricket squad for the Asia Cup was announced on Thursday, with Shoaib Akhtar making the cut.

LAHORE: The 15-member national cricket squad for the Asia Cup was announced on Thursday.

The squad comprises of Shahid Afridi as captain, Salman Butt as vice captain, Imran Farhat, Shahzaib Hasan, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Asad Shafiq, Umar Amin, Kamran Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rehman.

The names were decided at a national selection committee meeting held at Qaddafi stadium Lahore, chaired by Mohsin Khan.

PCB Medical penal also presented fitness reports of Shoaib Akhtar and Shoaib Malik.

Earlier there were doubts about the selection of Shoaib Akhtar in the squad.

AHSAN | 14 years ago | Reply NO,i think initially there were doubts on the fitness of shoib.altough Media started spreading rumours about his failre of fitness test yet mohsin hassan khan and shaihid afridi stated "we have to wait for fitness report" Shoib was confident after test...and thankx to reports,both shoibs have gone through this though test...its a good omen for pak cricket i hope!!!
