Court grants time for NAB to file reference

KARACHI: An administrative judge of the accountability court has granted time till November 9 to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference regarding the conversion of amenity plots into residential and commercial plots and misuse of authority. Karachi Development Authority (KDA) former director general Nasir Abbas appeared in court. NAB requested for time to file the reference, to which the court granted time till the November 9. The suspects are accused of misusing their authority. Amir Naqvi, the lawyer of the suspect adopted the stance that the warrant issued by NAB chairperson and the taking of suspect into custody was illegal. According to NAB, the suspects were accused of converting amenity plots into residential and commercial plots. The suspects caused loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.
