In order to boost production of rice and cotton, the Punjab Seed Corporation has provided 110,000 tons of certified seeds to growers of the province.
A PSC spokesman told reporters on Monday that 70,000 tons of rice seeds and 40,000 tons of cotton seeds had been provided through notified sales points and registered dealers.
He added that there were 19 designated sales points in the province, while more than 1,000 cotton and rice dealers had registered themselves with Punjab Seed Corporation.
He said that seeds were being provided in packing of 20 kilogrammes at these points.
Since sufficient quantities of seeds had been provided to these centres, the farmers can acquire those from their nearest Punjab Seed Corporation offices, he added.
