Arrest: ‘Commander’ of banned outfit held

Sources say the suspect, Abu Hamza alias Mauvia, was a commander of outlawed religious outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.

KARACHI: Security agencies have arrested an alleged commander of a banned outfit from Karachi on Monday.

Sources said that the suspect, Abu Hamza alias Mauvia, was a commander of the outlawed religious outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and he was reportedly taken into custody from Gulshan-e-Maymar. Sources added that the suspect was later handed over to a Sindh police cell in Karachi for further investigation. However, there has been no official confirmation of the arrest.
