LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority's (LDA) newly-appointed Vice Chairman Sheikh Mohammed Imran has vowed to transform the authority into a vibrant public service organisation by working as a team with other members of the governing body and officials of the city developer.

He made these remarks during a meeting of newly-nominated members of the governing body of the authority on Monday. He underlined that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed for upholding merit in all matters. "No one seeking undue favour should be accommodated, no matter how much influential he is. Simultaneously, there should be no problem for anyone asking for genuine relief," he added.

He said there will be across the board accountability from top to bottom and everyone will have to serve people earnestly. Members of the LDA governing body had just recently been entrusted responsibilities and no opinion should be formulated about their performance at least before six months.

He asked LDA officials concerned to simplify various SOPs for public convenience besides formulating public friendly policies, in line with the vision of the prime minister and generate more employment opportunities for the people. He directed LDA officials to consult different stakeholders onboard for preparation of a new master plan for Lahore Division.

Director General Lahore Development Authority Amna Imran Khan welcomed the vice chairman and other members of the governing body at LDA office. She briefed them about the scope of work, responsibilities, and functions of the various wing of LDA.
