LAHORE: An opposition legislator has said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be held responsible if National Assembly's opposition leader Mian Shehbaz Sharif's health deteriorates because the bureau officials are not providing him healthcare facilities.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Aneeza Fatima, in her resolution she submitted in Punjab Assembly Secretariat, strongly condemned NAB for not providing medical facilities to the former chief minister of Punjab in NAB's custody.

She demanded the House provide best medical treatment to Shehbaz because he is suffering from blood cancer.

She said that former chief minister informed NAB official about his illness but despite that, he is not being provided the medical treatment in the custody.

"It is everyone's right to get medically examined during the custody in any institution, including NAB," she said.

Talking about Shehbaz's services for the people of Punjab, she said that Shehbaz served the masses day and night for putting the province on the track of progress and despite that nobody bothered about his health.

Talking to The Express Tribune the lawmaker said that NAB chairman should be asked whether he treats other people the same way he is treating Shehbaz. She asked does NAB law not allow anyone, who is in NAB's custody, for getting medically examined. "It is astonishing that the man who had already been cooperating with the bureau was arrested and was not being provided medical treatment."

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Mirza Javed also demanded the federal government explain why and how the Israel airplane was allowed to land on Pakistan's soil.  He said it is a matter of treason and security risk after Israel's plane landed on the country's land. He also demanded the House deal with people behind the incident.

He made these demands in a resolution he submitted in Punjab Assembly Secretariat on Monday.

The opposition lawmaker said it is astonishing that an Israeli airplane landed on Islamabad airport and stayed there for at least 10 hours. He said he strongly condemned the incident. He added that the federal government should clarify and share details as soon as possible.
