QUETTA: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan on Friday transported relief goods, comprising food items and tents, to the drought-hit Chagai district.

Talking to media while sending the relief goods, Minister for Home and PDMA Saleem Khosa said, “The provincial government will impart assistance to all drought-hit regions of the province because we cannot leave our people alone in difficult times.”

The home minister said PDMA Balochistan, under its available resources, acted promptly to provide relief to the people living in the drought-hit area.

“We have been monitoring the relief operation in Chagai and other drought-hit regions,” said Khosa.

Deputy Commissioner Chagai on Wednesday had called for immediate relief assistance for Chagai as drought has been rapidly gripping the Pakistan-Iran bordering city, affecting more than 7,000 families.

On the home minister’s directives, a PDMA team, carrying relief goods for 5000 families, left for Chagai.
