Pakistanis have a right to seek answers to some questions.
KARACHI: The inquiry into the PNS Mehran episode seems to have been a hush-hush affair. However, Pakistanis, many of whom are denied their basic needs to keep the military well-funded, have a right to seek answers to some questions. Some of these are: When the runway at the base is shared by the PAF and the Pakistan Navy and the PAF’s assets were as close to the runway as the Orions, why did the attackers focus their weapons only on the Orions? Also, will someone give us a clue regarding the identity of the attackers who were killed? Were they Pakistanis or foreigners? A naval unit that came to take part in the operation against the militants was not allowed inside the base for several hours — why?
