QUETTA: State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi has said provision of better facilities and security to Pakistani pilgrims, who travel to Iran, Iraq and Syria, is the core responsibility of the government.

He said this during his visit to the Pakistan-Iran border town of Taftan. He was accompanied by Special Assistant to the PM on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari.

The state ministers were briefed about travel, security and accommodation of pilgrims by Chagai Deputy Commissioner Qaseem Khan Kakar.

Later they visited the Pakistan House, FIA Immigration and Customs House at the Taftan border.

Afridi praised improvements in the facilities being provided to pilgrims in Taftan and directed the authorities concerned to further improve the movements and security arrangements for pilgrims.

The state ministers also met pilgrims staying at the Pakistan House and listened to their issues and concerns. Afridi assured them of provision of better accommodation, security and immigration facilities.
