A NAB official told The Express Tribune that notices had been served on five people, including the principal secretary. He said former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chief minister Pervez Khattak appeared before the NAB committee in the past. He added that a questionnaire had been handed over to each suspect by the committee with time allotted to answer all the questions.
The official said it was an inquiry and the case would proceed if enough evidence was found.
Former K-P chief minister Pervez Khattak had already recorded his statement before the bureau.
NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had taken notice of leasing out of 275-acre protected land of Forest Department to a private company in Malam Jabba. He had directed DG NAB KP to immediately get all relevant documents including the lease agreement and launch an inquiry.
