CM Kamal for preparing strong case for NFC share

Participants call for adopting an effective strategy to control unnecessary expenditures, waste of funds

QUETTA: Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has directed the Finance department to prepare a strong case to be presented to the federal government for the province’s share in the next National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

Presiding over a meeting of the Finance department, the CM said the case for NFC Award should be based on the poverty-related problems and law and order expenditures.

He instructed the Finance department to inform the federal government about the financial problems of the province. He said that members of the National Assembly and the Senate from the province would be taken into confidence over the preparation of the province’s case for share in the NFC Award.

Kamal said that billions of rupees had been spent on improving the law and order situation in the province during the last 15 years.

Participants of the meeting called for adopting an effective strategy to control unnecessary expenditures and waste of funds.

Provincial Finance Minister Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani, Secretary Finance Noorul Ameen Mengal and Secretary S&GAD Qamar Masood were present at the meeting.
