HEC should devise a set of guidelines for institutions to follow when setting up a library on their premises
Libraries are important for a healthy development of a society. It provides a plethora of knowledge for everyone. The lack of libraries can adversely affect society and especially those who do not have the financial means to buy books.
However, even though the importance of libraries have been mentioned time and again, we still have very few in the country. Libraries in the few educational institutions have outdated books and other books are not properly maintained.
The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan should devise a set of guidelines for educational institutions to follow when setting up a library on their premises.
