Pakistan is ranked as the 6th most-populous country in the world
TURBAT: Pakistan is ranked as the 6th most-populous country in the world. The total population of Pakistan was estimated at 193.6 million in 2016. This represents 2.56 per cent of the world’s total population which means that one in every 39 persons on the planet is a resident of Pakistan.
According to the UN’s recent report, Pakistan’s population is to exceed 300 million by 2050. But Pakistan is not equipped for it. Population explosion leads to various kinds of deprivation and high unemployment rate.
The government must devise a plan to curb the population growth and also curb poverty.
