Probe ordered into fire at PID building in Islamabad: Fawad Chaudhry

There are no resulting casualties

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday said that a committee had been formed to probe the outbreak of fire earlier today at the Press Information Department in Islamabad.

Speaking outside the building where the fire had been extinguished, he said the organisations's records were safe and there were no casualties of the incident.

25 vehicles from the fire brigade had arrived at the building earlier to extinguish the flames. The emergency and disaster management director Zafar Iqbal was present at the location along with a heavy contingent of police rangers and commandos.

Three individuals who suffered burns have been taken to medical facilities.

Three floors of the building were affected.
