Fanny packs are back! And it seems like they are here to stay. Love them or hate them, you might find yourself following the trend in no time. This 'dorky' purse-belt is no longer a fashion faux pas and has  actually become a celebrity staple.

From Sarah Jessica Parker to Rihanna, here are 5 celebrities who hit the red carpet and streets alike; donning the hip-hugging accessory, as compiled from InStyle.

1. Beyonce

Queen B was among the first to prove the power of the fanny pack. She was captured with a red hot patent one in her 2011 music video for Party and then again, last year. She teamed it with a stunning monochrome midi skirt and a cropped royal blue hoodie.

2. Will.i.am

Who said men can't rock this accessory? Will.i.am made it work as he accessorised his three piece suit with this squared, white 'manny pack' on the red carpet.

3. Rihanna

The Umbrella hitmaker looks oh-so-cool wearing this Gucci, leather bag with her black maxi dress. RiRi took to the streets of New York City in this fanny pack which really complemented those quirky trainers.

4. Rita Ora

The British singer changed it up a little and instead of securing this Chanel bag around her waist, she turned it into a crossbody by tossing it across her chest.

5. Sarah Jessica Parker

Channelling her inner Carrie Bradshaw, SJP stepped out in this chic Chanel statement piece back in 2014. The belt-like accessory is simple yet noticeable what with the contemporary shape and luxurious material.
