Drive-by shooting: KESC security chief gunned down
He was killed near check post No6.
KARACHI:
The chief of Karachi Electric Supply Company’s security department, a retired colonel, was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in the Malir Cantonment area on Sunday night. He was killed near check post No6. DIG East Captain (retd) Tahir Naveed confirmed the occurrence of the incident, but said he was yet unable to say anything about the motive behind it. The deceased was identified as 60-year-old Mohammad Ali Saqi. DSP Chaudhry Sohail Faiz told The Express Tribune that Saqi was a resident of Malir Cantt and the attack took place outside his nursery. Witnesses said that there were at least two attackers on a motorcycle, adding that the security chief had been shot at least thrice. He was pronounced dead at PNS Shifa Hospital. DSP Faiz said that the attackers wore helmets and used a 9mm pistol.
